Key Scripture: Luke 8:40-56 “40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. …”

Well, this is it, the final daily devotion. Can you believe we have gone through 150 of these together? Isaiah has led us into new depths in his book to reveal the beauty of God’s character. The profound and prophetic have come to the surface many times and through all that we have read and studied together, it’s comforting to know that He is, and always will be sovereign over the schemes and plans of men. I am amazed how many times God speaks prophetically in this book about the end times and events leading up to it. I think in many ways we have only scratched the surface of this book.

Not only will God’s new creation be permanent, but God’s people will also be permanent too. No more corruption will mar the Feasts of the Lord. The Feasts that once brought God such pain will now bring Him great joy. At the beginning of his book, Isaiah brough the word of the Lord to His people. Isaiah 1v13-14 “stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to Me, New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations – I can not bear your worthless assemblies.”

The earth and the heavens, as we know it, will pass away. 2 Peter 3v10 “but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”

The Lord promised that Israel would be to Him a kingdom of priests {Ex 19v6} This promise is repeated in Isaiah 61v6. Only some were priests and Levites but through their ministry, Israel became God’s priestly people. At the beginning of the church age, the Word of God was spoken through the Jews – like Paul, Peter, and Apollos. …
