Fan The Flame (Day 148)

Isaiah 66v22a “for as the new heavens and the new earth which I shall make, shall remain before Me,” says the Lord,

The earth and the heavens, as we know it, will pass away. 2 Peter 3v10 “but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”

The Lord is in the process of making a new heaven and a new earth that will remain before Him. The Lord puts His name to the promise so it will be impossible for peace and stability to ever be disturbed, and Satan will never touch the new creation. The execution and sentence on the devil are stated in Rev 20v10 “the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” our enemy, Satan, was defeated at Calvary, Col 2v13-15 “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross,” but for some reason known only to God, the sentence had not yet been executed. In some prisons around the world, men and women live on Death Row for years after they have been sentenced to death…so does this mean that we still have victory over our enemy, the devil? Absolutely, we know the truth of scripture and the activity of God’s truth deep within against our foe. In fact, God says in Romans 8v37 “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.”

There are many scriptures that declare complete victory over him concerning his threats, tricks, and temptations. Our enemy is clever when it comes to scripture and we must know God’s word, believe and apply it.

I have heard many people say that we should “resist the devil and he will run away from you” but there is something important here that we have missed because we must read the whole thing for victory. In James 4v7 it says we are to “submit to God, then resist the devil, then he is on the run” …. not us on the run.

So, live out God’s truth in your life, “for In Christ, you are a conqueror.” Now you might be thinking that quote isn’t right, and you would be correct, scripture doesn’t say that, but scripture does say, “you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved us.”

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for who You say I am in You.
